Ingredients: one box of white cake mix, baked according to box directions; 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream; 1 cup confectioners sugar; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 1 pound California Giant strawberries, whole and cut for decorating

Use fresh strawberries to give some life to your classic boxed cake mix. Topping this beautiful cake with strawberries adds a bright pop of color and a dynamic flavor to a simple white cake mix.

INGREDIENTS

one box of white cake mix, baked according to box directions
2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pound California Giant strawberries, whole and cut for decorating

DIRECTIONS

- - Bake cake according to the directions. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
- - To make frosting, combine heavy whipping cream, confectioners sugar, and vanilla in a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Whisk until stiff peaks form.
- - Decorate cake with frosting. Add cut strawberries between the two cake layers. Then finish by decorating the top of the cake with sliced and whole strawberries. Garnish with flowers.
