Briefly explain why you chose Cycling as a competitive sport: I love the freedom of riding a bike; it allows you to cover so much distance and see amazing places based on your own hard work. On a competitive level, I love the endurance aspect of cycling because you push yourself physically in a way that is hard to achieve in other sports. I thrive off of the suffering and the challenge through the combination of the aerobic and technical sides that Cycling presents.
What are your Goals /future in cycling? I hope to achieve my maximum potential as an athlete through cycling. I would like to become one of the top female cyclists at the world level in both mountain biking and cyclocross.
Hobbies/Family: I am extremely close with my family, have one older brother 3 years older who is a phenomenal skier and works as a firefighter on a hotshot crew during the summer. Both of my parents still reside in Durango my mother is an ESL teacher and my father owns his own small remodeling business. I grew up as a mountain girl thriving off of the outdoors. I did swimming, ballet, soccer, alpine and cross-country skiing and long-boarding. Now my current hobbies are telemark skiing and cross-country skiing in the winter, traveling, gardening, reading, cooking and art and hopefully many other things that I have yet to explore
Favorite Cal Giant berry and favorite way to eat them: My favorite Cal Giant berries are the raspberries and I love them in my salads or smoothies and sometimes I just make a complete raspberry drink out of the in the blender with a little water, no sugar necessary!!
I am looking forward to a successful race season with much to learn and riding on a wonderful team with other phenomenal cyclists!
